KINO
sound piece, running time: 20'
Kino (2005) is a site specific work exhibited in an old cinema. Two sound tracks are played in the same places in the auditorium from which they were recorded. The experience of the visitor mirrors that of the audience member 70 years previously. The complex sound narrative is heard through headphones. Originally made by a process of binaurally recording then assembling on multi track, audio mixing, soft ware, the piece takes the listener into the past through an intense engagement with sound and place.
This fragment of Kino is a binaural recording,
for the best result please use headphones.
